GD12456I am a British Orthopaedic and spinal surgeon, qualified at Cairo University, Egypt in 1992. I had my specialized training and practice in Orthopaedics and spinal surgery in two parts: A. At Cairo University Hospitals between 1992 and 2001, B. In the United Kingdom between 2001 and 2012. C. In 2012, I started my practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE and till the current time. I had my training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Cairo university hospitals in Egypt and multiple teaching and district hospitals in the UK, which contributed to my exposure to varieties of Orthopaedic problems prevalent both in the Middle East and Europe that consolidated my experience as an Orthopaedic surgeon. My main interest and subspecialty is spinal surgery particularly microscopic lower back surgeries including different types of spinal fusions. My career in Spinal surgery has developed over time and I was lucky to get very good training at using the operative microscope that I am able to perform all my operations using it. Also, I am an Orthopaedic surgeon who is well trained in hip and knee arthroplasty as well as basic knee arthroscopy, hand, foot and trauma surgeries. Finally, one of the best achievements in my career which I had in 2015 is obtaining a diploma in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound in Orthopaedic practice particularly in therapeutic aspects, which helps me a lot to perform my ‘in clinic’ procedures using ultrasound guidance.
